Members of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 24 Women’s Committee proudly supported the Tim Tebow Foundation’s annual Night to Shine event.
For the past five years, the Tim Tebow Foundation has partnered with churches throughout the world, individuals and organizations in order to provide people with special needs, age 14 and older, with an unforgettable prom night experience.
For Several months, the Sheet Metal Workers Local 24 Women’s Committee collected nearly 75 gently used formal dresses, men’s suits, dress shirts, shoes, purses and jewelry, which were donated to this event. Thanks to the work of the Women’s Committee and generous donors, prom attire was provided to individuals with special needs who otherwise may not have been able to attend this event.
Their kindness made this special night a reality for deserving attendees, as volunteers helped set up appointments for men and women to be fitted to select a dress or suit for the event.
On Feb. 7, the Night to Shine marked its sixth anniversary, as 721 churches from around the world welcomed over 115,000 guests with the support of over 215,000 volunteers.
Among those who attended the Night to Shine was SMART Local 24 Business Manager Rodney French and his daughter Kayle.
Local 24 thanks the members of the Women’s Committee for their volunteer work and those who donated items to help make Night to Shine a reality.
